Biography

Maria Gołoś After graduating and obtaining a Masters degree in Theater Studies in 2008, she began working in feature film production and promotion. In 2012 she started show-running the critically-acclaimed weekly program about filmmakers and cinema ("Weekendowy Magazyn Filmowy”), which won the Polish Film Institute Award for best show in its category. In 2015 she was an associate producer of the Polish/German co-production, "Summer Solstice" (dir. Michał Rogalski, prod. Prasa&Film). A year later she produced the film "I’m a Killer” (dir. Maciej Pieprzyca, prod. RE Studio; Best Director Award at the Shanghai IFF, Best Director Award at the FilmFestival Cottbus, Silver Lions at the Gdynia Film Festival). In 2019 she was also responsible for the production of Pieprzyca’s subsequent feature film - "Icarus" (prod. RE Studio, Silver Lions at the Gdynia Film Festival 2019). In November 2021 her third feature film “Autumn Girl” (prod. RE Studio, dir. Katarzyna Klimkiewicz) premiered in Polish cinemas and is also already available on Netflix. Maria’s journey as a company owner and independent producer began in 2017, when together with Monika Matuszewska she established the production company ROZBRAT FILMS. ROZBRAT’S first production - short film "Relax" directed by Agnieszka Elbanowska - premiered in 2018 and won an award at the Gdynia Film Festival. In 2020 ROZBRAT produced web series “Lockdown Stories” (the show is available on YouTube) and 8 episodes of docuseries “In the Rhythm of Freedom” for Canal+ Poland. Since 2022 ROZBRAT FILMS - outside of working on arthouse films - develops commercial projects for wider audiences in association with FremantleMedia Poland. Maria’s a member of Polish Film Academy and Producers Guild of Poland. She’s also EAVE Producers Workshop 2021 Graduate.
