Biography

Graduated in Audiovisual Production and specialized in Audiovisual Project Development at PUCRS, Julia Cazarré wrote and directed the short film “Gestos” (2017), selected for 17 festivals and shows in 7 countries, winning 6 awards and honorable mentions and being shown in 2 TV channels. Among the selections, the Gramado Film Festival, the São Paulo International Short Film Festival (Kinoforum) and the International Children's Film Festival (FICI) stand out. "Searching Giants", her first feature film script, won 3rd place in the FRAPA 2019 script competition. Julia worked in the script room of the fantastic drama series "The Willis", a project that is part of the creative core of Prana Filmes, and was one of the writers of the first season of the animated series "Lipe, Grandpa and the Monster", by Cortô, both currently in search of financing. In 2021, Julia won the honorable mention award in the series pilot category of the Cabíria Award 2021 for the script for the pilot of the LGBTQIA+ comedy series “Gigi's Rainbow Productions”. She is currently pursuing her master's degree at ppg-CINEAV, in which she researches the creative process of writing in its intersections with art and technology. In the production department, Júlia was an assistant in the film "After Being Ashes" (2020) by Eduardo Wannmacher and in the tv series "Evil's Banality" by Box Brasil (2021) and executive producer of the short film "Macabre Night" (2021) by Felipe Iesbick, with the international debut at the Rojo Sangre festival, Argentina, and a stint at Short Fest, Palm Springs (USA).
