Ram Bergman just completed Rian Johnson's globe-trotting con-man movie "The Brothers Bloom" starring Adrien Brody, Rachel Weisz, Mark Ruffalo, and Rinko Kakuchi which is scheduled for release this fall (Summit/ Weinstein). This is the latest addition to Mr. Bergman's long line of production involvement. He had previously teamed up with Rian Johnson for Mr. Johnson's directorial debut, "Brick" , a hard-boiled noir mystery that premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival and won the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision(Focus Features) . He just wrapped filming on the hyper stylized martial arts film "Bunraku" directed by Guy Moshe and starring Josh Hartnett, Woody Harrelson,Ron Perlman and Demi More. Other recent releases that Mr. Bergman has worked on include the Sundance favorite "Under the Same Moon" (La Misma Luna), a Mexican/U.S. drama directed by Patricia Riggen, which was released earlier this year by Fox Searchlight/The Weinstein Co.. Sergei Bodrov's historical epic "Nomad" (The Weinstein Co). The film was Kazakhstan's first submission to the Academy Awards® and was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. He also produced "Relative Strangers" , a comedy directed by Greg Glienna starring Danny DeVito, Kathy Bates, Neve Campbell, and Ron Livingston (First Look), and the sexy drama "Conversations With Other Women" directed by Hans Canosa starring Helena Bonham Carter and Aaron Eckhart, which premiered at the 2005 Telluride Film Festival and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. Some of Mr. Bergman other films as producer include Michael Radford's "Dancing at the Blue Iguana" ; Yuri Zeltser's "The Circle" and "Black & White" ; Dana Lustig's "Kill Me Later" , and "Wedding Bell Blues" ; Jay Anania's "Her Name is Carla" and "Long Time Since" ; and Eric Bross' "Stranger Than Fiction" . In 2006, Mr. Bergman was nominated for the Producer Award at Film Independent's Spirit Awards, and he was named one of the "Ten Producers to Watch" by Variety in 2005.
