We are extremely glad to renew an important partnership – for the second year in a row – with the World Cinema Fund (WCF)which supports the production and distribution of feature films and feature-length documentaries, with special attention on independent cinema.
Among the awards assigned by WCF there is the WCF Europe –TFL Audience Design Award, promoted in cooperation with TorinoFilmLab.
This year the award goes to the feature film OASIS OF NOW by Chee Sum Chia (Malaysia), produced by Afternoon Pictures (Malaysia), Yve Vonn Lee and La Fábrica Nocturna (France), Xavier Rocher (France). Oasis of Now was a project at the 2021 Talent Project Market (Berlinale Talents / Berlinale Co-Production Market).
The WCF Europe –TFL Audience Design Award consists of consultation and mentoring for the development of an audience design strategy provided by TorinoFilmLab.
In this frame, TorinoFilmLab launched a TFL Next Audience Design workshopthat will take place online from 18th to 22nd October and at the beginning of November.
Four candidates will be selected to work as a group and individually on OASIS OF NOW developing, together with the film team (producer & director), an innovative audience engagement strategy to inspire the film's future distribution thanks to the guidance of our alumnus and expert Benjamin Cölle.
Besides, the audience design trainees will follow the creative process run by the TFL Audience Designers consulting the films awarded with the TFL Audience Design Fund 2021: WHETHER THE WEATHER IS FINE by Carlo Francisco Manatad, DAUGHTER OF RAGE by Laura Baumeister and BASTARD. THE LEGACY OF A CRIMINAL by Pepe Rovano.
