Biography

Cormac Fox established Vico Films with Peter Foott and Michael Doherty in 2003. Selected as one of EFP’s Producers On The Move 2019 and SCREEN International’s Future Leaders 2018, Fox is currently in Production on Cold Courage, an 8x60’ international thriller set in London. The project is a four-way co-production between Vico Films, Luminoir (FI), Saga-Nordic (IS) and Potempkino (BE). The Series is commissioned by Viaplay, with Lionsgate onboard for international distribution rights. Cormac’s latest feature film "Animals" had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The film received glowing reviews from the Trades including Variety, Indiewire, Emipre and The Guardian, and is being sold by Cornerstone. "Animals" is the first feature film made under the Irish-Australian co-production treaty. The film is Australian director Sophie Hyde’s sophomore feature (after her Berlinale and Sundance-winner 52 Tuesdays), and stars Holliday Grainger (Tulip Fever, My Cousin Rachel) and Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, Search Party). The film is currently on theatrical release in the UK & Ireland. Cormac is a graduate of ACE, EAVE and Ireland’s National Film School. He is a producer on several feature film and television projects including the Irish breakout hit “The Young Offenders” (2016 – dir. Peter Foott), “A Dark Song” (2016 – dir. Liam Gavin), “History’s Future” (2015 – dir. Fiona Tan, World Premiere - Rotterdam Film Festival), “Dark By Noon” (2013 – dir. Alan Leonard & Mike O’Flaherty) and “King of the Travellers” (2012 – dir. Mark O’Connor). His projects have earned the company over two dozen international awards as well as over a dozen Irish Film and Television Awards and Nominations. 2018 saw the release of the BBC-commissioned series The Young Offenders which debuted to wide critical acclaim and became one of the most successful UK & Irish TV series in recent years. The team have been commissioned to shoot Series 2 and 3, with principal photography underway. Cormac is also Series Producer on RTE’s hit hidden-camera show "Senior Moments". Cormac is currently developing a slate of feature film and international TV projects, as well as currently EP’ing Polish rising star Piotr Domalewski’s latest feature, the Irish-Polish film "I Never Cry".
