Chingiz Karibekov

Chingiz Karibekov was born in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. A town known colloquially as "the middle of nowhere". At a young age he moved to Belgium with his mother. This is where he found his love of film. He graduated with distinction from the Royal Institute of Theatre, Cinema and Sound in creative writing. He has written award-winning short film 'BOI/ Fight' along with his friend and filmmaking partner, Anthony Nti. He has made video clips and commercials. 'Postcard', his first feature-length film, in development by Caviar film, has won second prize at the Sam Spiegel Film lab.
