Michal Reich is a film editor and script consultant based in Prague. He has edited Czech and international films, with several gaining recognition at festivals such as Cannes FF 2012, TIFF 2019, Busan FF
2019, Cottbus FF 2020, and PÖFF 2023.
He received the Best Editing award for
The Ballad of Piargy by Ivo Trajkov at The Sun in a Net awards and the Canadian Cinematography Awards in 2023. A graduate of story editing training programmes such as the Script Consulting Incubator, LIM, Script Circle, and John Yorke’s Story, he has been inspired by diverse approaches.
Since 2018, he has been developing both narrative and experimental scripts while teaching editing and dramaturgy at FAMU. In 2023, he became a tutor for the Dok.incubator workshop and is presently
in PBSP psychotherapist training, fascinated by the connection between storytelling and psychology.
