Based between Poland and Ireland, Norah Mc Gettigan is a writer, director and script consultant. She graduated from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland with a degree in theatre, followed by a masters in film directing at the Polish National Film School in Lodz, where she has been teaching screenwriting since 2013. She is also a tutor/consultant at the Wajda Studio and Atelier Scenariuszowe. She developed her screenwriting knowledge at various international workshops - including "Six Days of Practice" with Franz Rodenkirchen & Francoise Von Roy, (Berlin) and Midpoint Training for Trainers, (Prague / Lodz ). Her award-winning short films "A Song for Rebecca" and “The Water Fight” were both officially selected for the Cinéfondation competition at the Cannes IFF. Her film "What it's like to be my mother" won awards throughout Europe and North America. In 2012, she made her debut feature film "Sanctuary." It won numerous awards, as well as a nomination in the best film category at the 2013 British Independent Film Awards and a nomination for best actress (Anne-Marie Duff) at the 2013 Irish Film and Television Awards. She is currently co-writing two feature length screenplays in development.
