Biography

After gathering first experiences in the media industry as 1st AD at JE Entertainment (now: Endemol) in 1992, Bettina Brokemper studied production and media economics at the Munich Filmschool. She did customary internships and produced shortfilms. During her student years she earned her money at the Munich Filmfestival, at the AB Pressagency, and as 1st AD. After graduation she was granted the GWFF Award for young producers, a scholarship to work and study in Los Angeles. In L.A. she worked in the development department of Luc Besson’s company, Seaside Production, at Fine Line/New Line, as well as for agent Paul Schwartzman. Back in Germany, she managed a training program for media professions, a joint venture of Zeitsprung Film, Magic Media Company and the Federal Job Agency. Since 2001 she has been working as a producer for Neue Impuls Film and Pain Unlimited. In May 2003 she joined forces with Helmut Hartl and Stefan Telegdy to form her own company, Heimatfilm GmbH & Co KG.
