Biography

Manuela Cacciamani, executive Vice President at Axed Group S.p.a., owner of One More Pictures S.r.l., and Direct2Brain Managing Director, has always worked in the film industry since the early days of her career. Before founding One More Pictures, Manuela acquired valuable experience on important sets, working with directors such as Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh, Terry Gilliam and Abel Ferrara. She worked on dozens of commercials, videos and short films until she had gained deeper knowledge in the field of digital effects and animation. She then decided to take her experience to the next level, combining her knowledge of traditional cinema with that of the digital world, based on creativity and technical innovation. In 2005 she became a shareholder and CEO of Direct2Brain S.r.l., a VFX and Animation Studio, thus finding the perfect blend between creativity and technology. In 2006, she founded One More Pictures, with the aim of developing innovative productions, but soon learned that to take on future challenges she needed a partner who would support her in entrepreneurial choices, therefore in 2009 she decided to have Direct2Brain and One More became part of AXED Group. In 2011 she produced the film "Fairytale" - Directed by Ascanio Malgarini and Christian Bisceglia, the first supernatural thriller produced in Italy, screened at the Cannes Market in May 2012, co-produced by RAI Cinema and distributed by RAI TRADE in many territories including the US (The Haunting of Helena), UK, Australia, Turkey (Kabus), Korea, Serbia and Colombia. In 2013, with Onemore Pictures, Manuela produced the feature film “Neverlake", directed by Riccardo Paoletti. The movie, which made its debut in October 2013 at the American Film Market, was today sold in 16 countries (Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Falckland Islands, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Suriname, Venezuela as well as the USA and Germany). The Italian premiere was held at Courmayeur Noir Film Festival in December. She Also co-produced with Redibis FILM the short film "A bird very serious”, by Lorenza Guess, based on a story of Niccolò Ammaniti. In July of 2014 she is an associate producer of the cdp OH!PEN which produces “La Musica Privata", the interview between the well-known writer, translator and poet Italian Erri de Luca, and the journalist and critic Gino Castaldo. In 2015 she produced for Sky Italy the film “In Fondo al Bosco" ("Deep in the Wood"), directed by Stefano Lodovichi, an experiment of independent cinema and auteur in Italy. The film was distributed by Notorious in 110 copies in November 2015. In this moment, with One More Pictures, among other projects, she is following development and pre-production of Kip and the Ice Man", a family adventure on Otzi, the mummy found in South Tyrol in 1991.
