Biography

Born in a family of filmmakers, BA in Modern History specialized in the Conquest of America, and MFA in film from Columbia University NY. After working as a journalist in newspapers and magazines such as El Pais, Diario 16, Diez Minutos etc, he soon focused his interest in film, first as adviser in films such as “Rowing with the wind” by Gonzalo Suarez or “Eldorado” by Carlos Saura, and then as Executive Director and Head of Development in Lola Films, by then Spanish biggest production outfit, were he developed films by Alex de la Iglesia, Carlos Saura, Vicente Aranda, Jaime Chávarri, Bigas Luna among others. Once finished this period of his life, in 2000 he decided to produce his own movies with his different film companies, LFC, ZEBRA, and most recently ZAMPA AUDIOVISUAL, having produced more than 25 feature films or documentaries with directors like Carlos Saura, Antonio Hernández, José Luis Cuerda, Gerardo Herrero or José Luis López Linares among others, as well as more than 500 hours of tv drama and programs. Currently he is in production of Pablo Solarz´s second film “The last suit” with Miguel Angel Solá and Angela Molina, and the documentary “ A Month with el Real” by José Luis López Linares. Without interrupting his job as producer, since 2015 he directs the international sales agency Latido Films. He is Deputy Chairman of the European Film Academy. In the past he developed an outstanding work in audiovisual training, funding and directing the Media Business School. Since 4 years he has been a guest teacher at the Spanish School in Middlebury College Vermont.
