Francisco Gózon (Caracas, Venezuela, 1964) 1981-1985 organizes university film-clubs and participates in political, social and human rights organizations in Venezuela. 1985 moves to Hungary and enters the Hungarian Film Academy where graduates in 1991 as director of photography and film director. In both 1995 and 1996 he won the Best DOP Award at the annual Hungarian Film Week. In 1997 he received the Hungarian "Balázs Béla" State Award. The same year he returned to Venezuela and created Panafilms, a production company with a social profile. In 1999 the Venezuelan cinematheque presented a retrospective of his work. Between 2002 and 2008 teaches photography at the Hungarian Film Academy. Since 1985 has worked as cinematographer in more than 20 feature films participating in most major European festivals. Also has photographed a number of documentary and non-fiction films and has directed short fictions and documentaries. His work has been awarded several times in both disciplines as DOP and as Director.
