Biography

Reem Morsi, is a writer/director, with a diverse career, from professional scuba diving/underwater photography to working in human rights & child/women protection (at the UN and other International Organizations around the world) to finally her lifelong passion career as a writer/director. Reem's short film credits include Their Feast (Cannes Short Film Corner, TIFF, BBC Film Festival, Cine Sud) and in 2016 The Door, which is currently on the festival circuit among other shorts. Reem won first place at the WIFT/BravoFact pitch competition 2016, for her short script Show & Tell, currently in the final stage of post-production. Reem participated at TIFF talent lab, the Canadian Film Centre's Director's Lab 2015/16, Women in the Director's Chair 2014/15, Berlinale Talent Lab 2012, Robert Bosch nominee 3 years in a row for her short scripts, and holds two MA degrees, an MA in International Law (LLM) and an MA of Filmmaking at the London Film School. Morsi is developing her first feature film “Bootleg”, for which she received development funding at the San Francisco Film Society March 2016. Reem was selected as a participant at the TIFF talent lab for September 2016.
