Biography

Sidharth Mathawan, a Kashmir-born architect from SPA, New Delhi, is a Mumbai-based Screenwriter & Director for films and web series. He honed his craft in production design on projects like "Midnight's Children" and "Don 2," collaborating with renowned directors such as Wong Kar-Wai, Deepa Mehta, Farhan Akhtar, and Emmanuel Lubezki. A Berlinale Talent 2010 for PD, he furthered his skills in screenwriting by workshops at filmArche, Berlin, and SWA, Whistling Woods. He immersed himself in the film festival scene, attending Berlinale (2010, 2014) and Cannes (2017, 2018), as well as the Producers Workshop at Marché du Film, Cannes 2017 and TFL Meeting Event, Italy 2018. His short film, "Analog Girl", premiered at Debrief Cannes, Paris 2018, and "The Desire for Desires" at CSAFF, Chicago 2018. He has developed his feature films, "Khayali Pulao" (previously titled 'Marie') at TorinoFilmLab, Italy 2018, and the Kashmir-set thriller "Gogji Bagh" at the Writers INK Film Screenwriting Lab 2023-24. In addition to feature films, Sidharth is actively developing episodic web series.
