MAIN INFO

TFL Extended – Film is addressed to teams of international audiovisual professionals, with fiction feature film projects at an early development stage, who are willing to dive deep into the writing process through an intensive development workshop.

Throughout the workshop, the participants have the opportunity to discuss their work in group sessions and one-to-one meetings with high profile tutors and to develop their projects with the support of a creative team of talented writers.

TFL Extended – Film aims at encouraging the creative process necessary to achieve the best possible result for conceiving strong stories, which can meet audience and market’s requirements.

The programme offers coaching and training adapted to the specific professionals’ needs, along with a 4.5-day trajectory.

Other than the training, the participants will have the chance to join the TFL community of international and high-qualified professionals and to enhance their skills while finding productive collaborations and networking with colleagues worldwide.


Online follow-up session
: after the workshop, the participants have approx. 2 months to re-work their materials and receive further advice and support on the projects’ development from their tutors with an additional one-time consultancy online.

TFL Extended - Film 2024 is organised in partnership with the Netherlands Film Fund.

WHO CAN APPLY

TFL Extended –Film is open to professional scriptwriters or writers/directors from all over the world.

We select 25 projects, that will work in 5 groups, each guided by a tutor with a wide international experience as a script consultant. Throughout the workshop, the participants will test a vast range of possibilities for the creative development of their projects by working on the treatment.

Thanks to the partnership with the Netherlands Film Fund, three projects that are part of the NFF TalentScope programme will be automatically included in the selection.


Eligibility criteria:

a. Applicants must send a fiction feature film project at an early development stage.
b. The programme is open to both original concepts or adaptations. In this second case, the team must have secured the rights for the original materials.
c. The working language of all workshops, meetings and events is English; thus, a good knowledge of English is essential to participate.

PARTICIPATION FEES & SCHOLARSHIPS

Participation fee: 2,000 Euro (+ VAT, if due) per team (max 2 participants).

Upon selection, participants must send a proof of the payment within the following 2 days, to confirm their seat.

The fee covers training (residential and online sessions) and part of the subsistence during the residential workshop (4 networking lunches and 2 networking cocktails).

Travel, accommodation and any other meal costs are at participant’s charge.

Our commitment is to guarantee accessibility to the TFL’s activities to as many talented participants as possible and to ensure diversity and inclusion through selection of projects/participants.

TorinoFilmLab doesn’t foresee any scholarships for this workshop. In many countries, public institutions provide scholarships for this kind of training, and TorinoFilmLab can provide a selection letter to facilitate the request.

HOW TO APPLY

The requested materials – to be submitted all together in one PDF, and all in English – are:

- project logline (2 lines max, font 14) - please note that this logline will be used for communication purposes and to announce the eventual selection of the project to the programme
- project synopsis (1 page max, font 14) 
- treatment (5 pages min - 10 pages max, font 14)
- director's/scriptwriter's intention note (1 page max, font 14)
- an updated CV for each applicant (2 pages maximum, per CV)
- a video presentation (1 min max.), including ALL the team members: in this video have to briefly present yourself/yourselves and explain why you’re interested in applying to the programme. The video should be uploaded on YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive. The video’s link – with NO password – should be included in the application package.


- a link – with NO password – to your previous work (30’ max) – if any. The link should be included in the application package.
- audiovisual approach documents (e.g., mood board, videoclip etc.) – if any
- a short presentation of each applicant for communication purposes (including the information listed HERE)
