In Competition
Two films coming from the ScriptLab class 2018 are featured in the list of the 18 great works that will compete for the Golden and Silver Bears. We are crossing our fingers for:
A PIECE OF SKY by Michael Koch (Switzerland / Germany)
ALCARRÀS by Carla Simón (Spain / Italy)
A shout-out also to our alumna Kamila Andini that will join the festival with her new title “Before, Now & Then”, just a few months after the release of her first feature – a #TFLfilm – YUNI that premiered in Toronto.
Encounters
Well-known for being the section at Berlinale more devoted to new cinematic visions, among its independent and innovative filmmakers Encounters will welcome:
UNREST by Cyril Schäublin (Switzerland), from FeatureLab 2019
Generation KPlus
The peculiarity of this section of Berlinale is the focus on young people, giving a spotlight to their vision and their narratives. This year a spot belongs to a 32 years-old director based in Australia that we are quite familiar with:
MOJA VESNA by Sara Kern (Slovenia / Australia), from ScriptLab 2018
We cheer for all of these films developed within our programmes and we look forward to the 10th of February to get the ball rolling!
More news from Berlin in the TV series field, specifically at the EFM Berlinale Series Market Conference. Three TFL alumni are joining forces for the project Storm Lara: the creator is Daan Gielis (Script&Pitch 2012), the director is Kadir Ferati Balci (AdaptLab 2016) and the TV Series is produced by "A Private View", the company of Dries Phlypo (SeriesLab 2021). What a team!
