Must-See #TFLfilms: Locarno 2024 Edition

Officially beginning in less than a month (7-17 August), the Locarno Film Festival is warming up for its 77th edition, starting with today’s reveal of the chosen titles composing the various sections, from Piazza Grande to International Competition.

Must-See #TFLfilms: Locarno 2024 Edition

We are proud to spot one of TorinoFilmLab’s most recent projects WEIGHTLESS (SULLA TERRA LEGGERI) by Sara Fgaier among the International Competition titles. The film took part in the FeatureLab training path in 2022, receiving also the TFL Production Award (€ 40,000).

GIAN fights the darkness caused by a sudden amnesia. MIRIAM, the daughter he does not recognize, gives him a diary written in his twenties that revolves around LEILA, a girl with whom he discovers love in the space of one night. Only by searching for her will he be able to find himself again.  What happens if we forget the love of our life?

Furthermore, Piazza Grande's programme features MEXICO 86 by César Díaz, a film that participated in the Green Film Lab sustainable production workshop held in Warsaw in 2022.

The festival showcases as well the great work of numerous TFL alumni, members of our long-lasting community: Cent Mille Milliards by Virgil Vernier and Seses (Drowning Dry) by Laurynas Bareiša within the International Competition; Electric Child by Simon Jaquemet will be screened in Piazza Grande together with the #TFLfilm which premiered this February at Berlinale SHAMBHALA by Min Bahadur Bham; while Dragon Dilatation by Bertrand Mandico and La Prodigiosa Trasformazione della Classe Operaia in Stranieri by Samir are included in the Out of Competition section.

See you in Switzerland, leopards!
