Green Film Lab takes a step further and moves to a sustainable location! The selection of the new workshop in Gran Canaria

For its second workshop of the year, Green Film Lab will move to Gran Canaria from 24 to 26 July. The island – with almost half of its territory protected – will host the programme combining cinema and sustainability and the new 19 participants. After the success in Turin, TorinoFilmLab will organise an Open Session addressed to local professionals interested in deepening their knowledge about green production.

From 24 to 26 July, Green Film Lab will welcome its 19 participants from 9 different countries in Gran Canariawhat is a better set for a workshop on sustainable production if not a sustainable location? 
Focused on the intersection of cinema and sustainability, Green Film Lab is organised by TFL in partnership with Green Film – Trentino Film Commission, with the support of the Creative Europe – MEDIA Sub-programme of the European Union, and in collaboration with ACE Producers, EAVE, and Ecoprod. The workshop in Gran Canaria is organised in partnership with Sociedad de Promoción Económica de Gran Canaria through Gran Canaria Film Commission, in collaboration with Clúster Audiovisual de Canarias. 

Green Film Lab promotes environmentally sustainable practices in film production and provides guidance on how to apply a green protocol and get certification. The pedagogical team is led by Giovanni Pompili (Italy), TFL alumnus and producer, accompanied by the three tutors Norma Cuadros Gonzalez (Colombia), Dörte Schneider Garcia (Portugal/Germany) and Lucie Trémolières (France). 

The workshop aims to promote sustainability in both national productions and co-productions, increasingly important for producers. But let’s unveal the selection of Green Film Lab - Gran Canaria 2026, made up of: 

- 5 PROJECTSDark Party by and with Guillermo Magariños and Silvia Garcia (Las hormigas negras, Canary Islands); Different Species by Laura Pérez Gómez, with María Santolaria and Daute Campos (Amissus Producciones, Canary Islands); Kloe by and with Hugo Santa Cruz – alumnus TFL Green Narratives 2026 – and Carlota Brava (Anti Kino Films, Canary Islands); Three Women by and with Mariù Lombardi and Viviana Calò (Ginevra Films, Italy/Argentina/Canary Islands); Wrestling Magia by Andrea Tagliaferri, with Eleonora Mei (Archimede Film, Italy). 

- 5 AUDIOVISUAL PROFESSIONALSPaulina Albrecht (Germany); Yadira Avalos (Canary Islands, Spain); Arima Léon (Canary Islands, Spain), Santiago Loayza Grisi (Bolivia); Kaja Wójcik (Poland). 

- 4 PROFESSIONALS FROM THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITYLinda Andreucci (Canary Islands, Spain); Illiyana Semerdzhieva (Bulgaria); Ilona Jurkonyte (Lithuania); Xiana Fernández-Albor (Spain).

Along with the workshop, on Saturday, 25th July from 9.00 a.m. the OPEN SESSION will involve local professionals in a series of talks on various aspects of sustainable filmmaking, such as the one on the role of Sustainability Manager led by Dörte Schneider Garcia, and the presentation of the Green Film Protocol by Luca Ferrario, director of Trentino Film Commission and founder of Green Film.
