Biography

He is a film producer, director, and distributor. Born in Pescara (Abruzzo, Italy) in 1994, he currently resides in Rome. He graduated cum laude in 2016 in Modern Literature with a thesis titled “Virtual reality and image culture in the civilization of entertainment”. Founding his publishing house and production company called Il Varco, he has produced 23 short films, 4 feature films, and edited 11 books. He serves as the artistic director of Il Varco – International Short Film Festival, Italy. Additionally, he established the monthly screening Short Days in Rome, the Abruzzi’s film screening “New Abruzzi Cinema” in Pescara, and the film distribution company Gargantua Film. His film productions have garnered recognition in over 120 festivals worldwide. In 2020, he collaborated with Werner Herzog on the film Accelerator in Leticia, Colombia, where he developed the filmed correspondence “Letters to Herzog” and the short film “Flores del precipicio”. He was selected as a finalist for Premio Zavattini 2021/2022. In 2022, his work "Happy New Year, Jim" was presented at the 54th Quinzaine des Réalisateurs during Cannes. The film, shot entirely inside video games, was produced by Nieminen film and Naffintusi. In 2023, he participated in the Locarno Spring Academy with Radu Jude, creating his film “Eschaton Ad”. During August of the same year, he studied with Apichatpong Weerasethakul in his workshop in Yucatan, Mexico. In November 2023, his feature documentary “A Stranger Quest”, filmed between the USA and Canada, was showcased at the 41st Turin Film Festival. In 2024, he was invited to be part of Berlinale Talents.
