Biography

Fran Harris began her career in film and TV after graduating from Trinity College Dublin, and then interning with director/producer Shin Shimosawa (Fear the Walking Dead) at Destination Films and Universal Pictures in Los Angeles. She then moved to London to take up a graduate place with NBC Universal, and navigated the studio system across various posts before setting up a film development agency - Everett Harris. One of their clients was Catalyst Global Media which brought Fran in, to develop film and TV projects - before she made the big move home to Ireland; to develop her own slate which she writes and produces with various international partners. Current writing projects include: Clean Sweep - a new crime drama, created by Gary Tieche (EP on AMC/Amazon’s Preacher) and produced by Element 8 in LA and Shinawil in Ireland. Netherland - an adaptation of the Pen/Faulkner winner and New York Times best-selling novel, in partnership with The Imaginarium in London. The Defect - a returnable (8 x one-hour) spy-thriller TV series, developed in association with Black Sheep Productions, about a young Irish woman who’s thrown into an international world of espionage for the British Secret Service. Deutschland 83 meets The Americans.
