Laura Ferrés (Barcelona, 1989). She graduated from ESCAC (University of Barcelona). Her first short film after university, "The Disinherited", is a portrait of her father facing the end of his family business. It won the Leica Cine Discovery Prize as Best Short Film at the Cannes Critics' Week 2017. Selected at 70 film festivals since then, nominated to the European Film Awards 2017, awarded as Best Documentary Short Film at the Spanish Film Academy 2018, being therefore qualified for the Oscars, among other distinctions. "The Permanent Picture" is her first feature film, produced by Fasten Films (Spain) and Le Bureau Films (France).
