Joy Jorgensen is the lead producer and founder of Killjoy Films. Recent features include WE STRANGERS (dir. Anu Valia, SXSW 2024), RUNNER (dir. Marian Mathias, TIFF 2022) which won the Eurimage Co-Production Prize at the Torino Feature Lab in 2021 and went on to win the Special Jury Prize in San Sebastián, and HOMEBODY (dir. Joseph Sackett, Outfest 2021). Notable shorts include LAPS (dir. Charlotte Wells, Special Jury Award Sundance 2017) BLUE CHRISTMAS (dir. Charlotte Wells TIFF, Sundance 2018) and BAMBIRAK (Best International Short Film Sundance 2020, dir. Zamarin Wahdat.)
Joy is a 2021 Sundance Producing Fellow, 2022 Rotterdam Producing Fellow, 2022 Torino Film Lab Script Editing Fellow, recipient of the 2022 New York Women in Film Grant, and a 2024 Ingmar Bergman Institute Resident at Bergman Island. She is a member of the Television Academy and the European Film Academy. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate Film department at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She is based in Berlin and Los Angeles
