In 2018, the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris dedicated a complete retrospective to his work, as well as the book "Le cinéma d'Isaki Lacuesta" (Brice Castanon and Sergi Ramos, ed). Other complete retrospectives of his filmography have been held at the National Gallery in Washington (2013, "Lacuesta: the artist's ruse"), the Cinemateca Suiza (2017), Filmoteca Española (2018) and Filmoteca de Catalunya (2019), as well as at Italy (Festival dei Poppoli 2012, Florence), France (Toulouse Festival 2012), Germany (Tübingen Festival 2012), Colombia (Cali International Film Festival 2010), Spain (Canarias Mediafest 2010, Alcances Cádiz 2012). His films have been screened at festivals around the world and in artistic centers such as the MOMA in New York, the Lincoln Center, the Anthology Film Archives (New York), CCCB. Among other awards for his career, he has received the National Film Award of the Generalitat de Catalunya (2012), the Sant Jordi Award (2002, 2017), the Eloy de la Iglesia Award (2010, Malaga Festival), as well as seven Gaudí awards, including best film in a non-Catalan language and best director. He has been curator of the Catalan pavilion at the 2016 Venice Biennale of Architecture ("Aftermath: architecture beyond architects", with Jaume Prat and Jelena Prokopljevic), made various installations for exhibitions ("Les images écho" and "Les films doubles" for the Georges Pompidou Center, "Your phone is a cop" with Refree for Fabra i Coats Barcelona, "The third face of the lluna" for Bolit Girona), collaborated with architects, painters, musicians, and other filmmakers: his filmic correspondence with the Japanese director Naomi Kawase, "In between days" (2009, CCCB) was presented at the Locarno Film Festival.
