Bert Van Dael’s award-winning series The Twelve was described by Ricky Gervais as “one of the most complex, nuanced and gripping courtroom dramas I've ever seen”. In 2016, Van Dael was the creator of Series Mania’s audience award winner, Hotel Beau Séjour. In 2020, Van Dael co-founded Wilder Content with internationally acclaimed director Tim Mielants (Peaky Blinders) and producer Gitte Nuyens. Previously, Van Dael was the creator and head writer of the Series Mania’s 2016 Audience Award Winner, “Hotel Beau Séjour,” picked up by Netflix as a Netflix Original. A dark, elegant thriller about a young woman who wakes up as a corpse and sets out to solve her own murder. Stephen King called it "Eccentric, brilliant, and strangely touching. Supernatural fare for those who don't ordinarily like it." A British remake for Sky, starring Clara Rugaard, is on its way. Van Dael began his career co-writing 'Clan' (aka 'The Out-Laws') with Malin-Sarah Gozin, a dark comedy series now being adapted at Apple, starring Sharon Horgan. The series will air in 2022.
