Biography

Kevin Biele was born and raised in Leverkusen, Germany. Having grown up in an industrial city with working- class parents, his work primarily focuses on the environment and conflicts of workers who strive to give meaning to their everyday lives. He holds a B.A. in Intermedia with a focus on Media Arts from the University of Cologne and a B.A. in Directing from the ifs international film school Cologne. His short film Mona & Parviz (2021) screened at over 30 national and international film festivals and received multiple awards, including the Silver Lynx Award at the FEST New Directors | New Films Festival. His short documentary See You Tomorrow (2022) was nominated for the prestigious German Grimme Prize 2024. His graduation film Long Time No See (2023) screened at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, PÖFF Shorts Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and was long-listed for the Yugo Student BAFTA Awards. He is currently developing his feature debut Villain (Verbrecher) at TFL ScriptLab 2024.
