Miguel López Beraza is an architect, filmmaker, and script consultant from Madrid. Since 2024, Miguel has been a tutor at TorinoScriptLab and the Less is More main programs. Miguel studied film at DOCNOMADS European Program, where he won the Goya Academy Award in 2015 with his first film. He completed his studies in scriptwriting at San Antonio de los Baños Film School in Cuba (EICTV). Miguel started combining his film practice with private script consulting and mentoring since 2017, working in programs such as The Creative Connection, European Writers Club, Visions du Reel, or Locarno Open Doors. He has also designed script development programs for the International Co-Production Forum of Madrid and the Netflix-Spanish Film Academy Campus. His films have received international awards such as New Horizons 2017 and the Grand Prix at Warsaw IFF 2022 with Ponto Final. His works have been featured in festivals such as Rotterdam IFFR, Raindance, or DOK Leipzig. In a previous life, Miguel worked as a humanitarian architect in emergencies and disaster zones in places like Nepal, Indonesia, or the Antilles.
