Selina Ukwuoma is a freelance script consultant who began her career at literary agency Curtis Brown working on theatre, film, and television projects including 2008 BAFTA winner Boy A. She has since gone on to advise on award-winning indies such as 2014 Teddy winner The Way He Looks, 2018 Goyas triumph Summer 1993 and recent Venice hits Familiar Touch and Ish.
As well as consulting both for production companies and for development initiatives such as Berlinale Talents’ Script Station, TFL ScriptLab, and Channel 4 New Writers’ Scheme, Selina is Director of Writing Programmes at the Realness Institute, where she has designed and run labs for a wealth of pan-African talent. In addition, she regularly leads workshops and gives masterclasses at film festivals and markets around the world and at home in the UK.
