Esra Demirkiran is Festivals Coordinator at TRT Sinema, the co-production department of Türkiye’s public broadcaster TRT. She also coordinates 12 Punto, Türkiye’s largest script development and co-production platform for feature films. Previously, she worked as a researcher for the Eurimages support program for nonconventional and innovative film projects.
With nearly a decade of experience as a news editor and executive producer at Türkiye’s Habertürk news network, she has led several flagship programs and documentaries. Prior to her journalism experience, Esra was the Board President and Co-Director of NISI MASA, a Paris-based European cinema network.
In the past, she worked as a film critic, provided consultancy on festivals and distribution for award-winning Turkish feature films, and contributed to the planning and organization of various Türkiye-based film festivals. Esra also leads training on film project development and festival-distribution strategies.
She holds a BA in Sociology from the Middle East Technical University and an MA in Film & TV from Istanbul Bilgi University, and is a member of the European Film Academy.
