Judith Angerbauer was born in 1977 in a small town in the south of Germany. After finishing school she quickly moved to Berlin where she still lives, now with her husband and her son. First she worked for theatre in different functions, e.g. at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, learning about costume and stage design, dramaturgy and production, when she then took her love for film more serious. Starting as a co-writer for THE FREE WILL (director: Matthias Glasner, starring Jürgen Vogel and Sabine Timoteo) which premiered at the Berlinale competition 2006 and won a Silver Bear, she worked as a screenwriter for several TV and cinema productions (e.g. TATORT- Der frühe Abschied, director: Lars Kraume). Working also as a director herself, after two short films (COVER, EGOISTE), her feature debut SONNWENDE had its premiere at the Max-Ophüls-Preis Saarbrücken 2013 and was released in cinemas in December.
