Born in the North East of England, Daniel studied film at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle. His graduation film Getting There won Best Fiction and Best Non-Fiction prizes at the Royal Television Society Awards. His next film, Fender Bender, won the Prix U.I.P. for Best European Short Film Award at Tampere Film Festival and was nominated for Best European Short Film at the European Academy Awards. The Making of Parts premiered in Competition at the 63rd Venice Film Festival where he won his second Prix U.I.P. for Best European Short Film and another European Academy Award Nomination. Jade premiered in Competition at the 59th Berlin Film Festival where it won the Silver Bear and was BAFTA Nominated for Best Short Film the following year. Daniel’s work has screened at hundreds of international film festivals and won more than 30 international awards and nominations.
