Pablo Lamar was born in Asunción, Paraguay. He studied film at the Universidad del Cine, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has written and directed the shorts, Ahendu nde sapukai (2008) and Noche adentro (2009), both of which premiered at the Semaine de la critique of the Cannes Film Festival and received awards worldwide. He also works as a sound designer for film. La última tierra, his first feature film, premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2016 were it received the Hivos Tiger Jury Award for artistic achievement. In the Sao Paulo Latin-American Film Festival 2016 was awarded as Best film and in the Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse 2016 obtained the Prix Découverte.
