Matthias Luthardt (born in 1972) studied German and French literature as well as journalism in Tübingen and Paris before attending directing class at filmschool HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg. He took part in a 10months-training of the German-French Film Academy, a masterclass in European film production (Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris). He finished filmschool with his first feature film PINGPONG, premiered 2006 at Critics' Week in Cannes. The film won, a.o., the Young Critic Award and a nomination in the EFA-section "European Discovery". Besides working on his films (both fiction and documentary) as a writer, director and producer, Matthias is regularly teaching in Germany and abroad.
