Biography

Leading European sales agent, owner of the Warsaw-based boutique world sales company New Europe Film Sales. Jan was also one of the producers on Valdimar Jóhannsson’s Lamb starring Noomi Rapace (A24 release) and producer of the Polish Film Fund-funded 3d family animation Nina (in development) and associate producer on Goran Stolevski’s Housekeeping for Beginners (Focus Features release) and exec producer on the Netflix hit comedy The Year I Started Masturbating. New Europe’s catalogue includes such arthouse hits, as Corpus Christi (Oscar nomination 2020), Rams (Prix UCR in Cannes 2015), Lamb (A24 release), Summer 1993 (Berlinale Best Debut 2017), Godland (Cannes UCR 2022), Sometimes I Think About Dying (Sundance 2023) and The Peasants (Sony Classics release), from the makers of the Oscar-nominated Loving Vincent. Jan regularly acts as an expert for the Polish Film Fund, European Film Academy and other international institutions. He’s a graduate and guest lecturer of EAVE and regularly teaches for leading development programs, such as Torino Film Lab and ACE. Jan is also active on the Polish comedy scene. He directed two short comedies starring leading independent Polish comedians - IN THE CIRCLE and EXAM (in coproduction with France). Jan also writes comedy scripts and did numerous improv courses in Warsaw and LA.
