Hédi Zardi was born in Tunis in 1976. After studying Cinema in France and Video Art in Barcelona, he moved to Montreal for his final year at university. On obtaining his Master degree, he moved to Paris where he began to work for UniFrance, promoting French talents worldwide. In 2003, he joined Daniel Toscan du Plantier’s company, working on the two first editions of the Marrakech International Film Festival, and working for 5 years for the French Academy Awards, les César. His collaboration included project and artistic direction of several events and handling the communication of the Academy. After working as freelance on several film festivals, he joined in 2008 the Acquisitions Department of the international sales company Fortissimo Films for the next two years. In 2009, he worked with the internationally acclaimed producer of AMELIE, Claudie Ossard, on the release of COCO CHANEL & IGOR STRAVINSKY, directed by Yan Kounen, which was the closing film for the Cannes Film Festival the same year, and collaborated with the Torino Film Lab on their screenwriting workshops. In 2010, he started working for Le Public Systeme Cinema at the International Press Office before integrating the Film Department team as programmer for the five international festivals the company runs: The Deauville American Film Festival, the Marrakech International Film Festival, the Gerardmer International Fantasy Film Festival, the Deauville Asian Film Festival and the Beaune International Thriller Film Festival. In 2012, he acted as associate producer on Michel Franco’s AFTER LUCIA, which was awarded the Grand Jury Prize of Un Certain Regard at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and in 2014 on Gabriel Risptein’s 600 MILES, Best First Feature film at the Berlinale 2015. In fall 2105 he launch with Fiorella Moretti their Paris based sales company, Luxbox. The compnay present at the Berlinale 2016 INHEBBEK HÉDI (HEDI) by Mohammed Ben Attia that won Best First Feature film and Silver Bear for the Best Actor. And Luxbox launch at the last Cannes Film Festival, APPRENTICE by BOO Junfeng at Un Certain Regard and MIMOSAS by Oliver Laxe, the Grand Prix of the Critic’s Week.
