Biography

Myriam Sassine started her career in 2005 as a story producer of several reality shows formats of Reveille Productions, Fox and Endemol. Sassine also directed a documentary, THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE IN THE LEBANESE CINEMA (2009), and a short video, NO CONNECTION (2006), which was selected for the Tribeca Film Festival 2007 and screened in various festivals and galleries worldwide. In 2010, Myriam joined Abbout Productions, and between 2010 and 2012 worked in content development with Lucky Monkey Pictures (USA). In 2012, Myriam became an associate producer at Abbout Productions and produced in 2013 her first feature documentary E MUET directed by Corine Shawi (which premiered in FID Marseille international competition) followed by A TIME TO REST by Myriam El Hajj in 2015 which premiered in Visions du Réel Nyon and won awards in many international film festivals. Throughout her producing career, Myriam participated in various cinema programmes such as DocMed (programme for Arab producers) in 2011, the TorinoFilmLab Interchange in 2012 and the Berlinale Talents in 2014. Myriam is also the Director of Maskoon Fantastic Film Festival, the first fantastic film festival in the Middle East and the COO of Schortcut Films, a company dedicated to financing and producing independent feature films.
