Biography

Ferdinando Dell'Omo is an Italian-Canadian producer and director who has been living between Toronto and Milan since 2007. In 2012, he graduated from the Master of Fine Arts program in Film Production at York University. Further in his academic career, he taught social documentary in the Faculty of Journalism at Wilfrid Laurier University. His short fiction film, "The Voice of a Fish", received the Rising Star Award at the 2013 Canada International Film Festival. His documentary film "Saturnia" was awarded the Toronto Showcase Award at the 2012 Moving Image Film Festival. Between June 2013 and September 2016 he has been Chief Operating Officer of AIC Studios Inc., the Canadian branch of the European group AMBI Pictures, where he has been one of the producers in movies such as "Rupture" (starring Noomi Rapace, directed by Steven Shainberg), "In Dubious Battle" (starring James Franco, Selena Gomez, Nat Wolf, Vincent D'Onofrio, Robert Duvall, Sam Shepard), and in the animated CGI feature film "Arctic Justice" (staring Jeremy Renner, Angelica Huston, Alec Baldwin and John Cleese). Ferdinando has written two feature films: "Il Capitano", a psychological drama on the behind-the-scenes life of professional football which he will direct in 2017 in a co-production Italy-Canada, as well as "Harbour", a neo-noir set on the St. Lawrence in Canada and currently in development which has already received the interest of major North American distribution companies.
