Claudia Schaefer is a qualified psychologist and scriptwriter who lives and works in Berlin. Between 2007 and 2010, she has studied at the Deutsche Film-und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb). Her most strongly interest lies in non-linear narratives and movies with a political focus. With Filmgalerie 451 and Frieder Schlaich she realized two feature films. "Cause I Have the Looks" won the International Film Festival in Stockholm Junior, placed second at the Chicago Filmfestival and was nominated for the German Film Critics Award. "Naomis Journey" had its theatrical release in 2018. Currently she is working on the film adaptation of Fatma Aydemirs‘ novel "Ellbogen", a BKM subsidized postcolonial arthouse horror film and a new project together with Frieder Schlaich.
