Born in Vila Franca de Xira on the outskirts of Lisbon (1992), Leonor graduated from the National Theatre and Film School (2013) and has a master’s degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia (2015). In 2016, BATRACHIAN’S BALLAD wins the Golden Bear at Berlinale Shorts, the Firebird Award in Hong Kong IFF and Best Short in Curtas de Belo Horizonte. In 2018, her first documentary feature TERRA FRANCA wins the Prix International de la SCAM at Cinéma du Réel, Prix de La Ville d’Amiens at Festival d’Amiens, Mejor Opera Prima Internacional at Mar del Plata and Best Documentary at Malaga IFF. Short DOGS BARKING AT BIRDS has its world premiere in Venice Orizzonti Competition 2019 and is nominated for Best Short for the European Film Awards (EFA 2019). Leonor is currently developing her first fiction feature.
