Berthold is German-Indonesian filmmaker. In 2016 he joined the directing programme at the University of Television and Film Munich. His short SUMMER HIT screened at many festivals including SXSW and won prizes at Palm Springs Shortfest and Premiers Plans amongst others. It has over 9 million hits online on the Short Of The Week Youtube channel. His new short BABY BROTHER is currently playing festivals and won the Grand Prix (Next Generation) at Brussels Short Film Festival and Best Fiction Film at Sehsüchte. As a screenwriter and director Berthold has worked on various TV projects, including the show 30 DAYS LUST (Series Mania, Seriencamp), is developing his first feature film with producers Ingo Fliess at If...Productions (The Teacher's Lounge) and will shoot his thesis short film VATERLAND (Berlinale Talents Short Form Station 2025, European Short Pitch) in summer 2025.
