Biography

M.F.A in Cinematic Arts (Screenwriting & Producing) – Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts, 2010 B.F.A in Visual Arts – University of Jordan, 2006 Nadia Eliewat is an award winning Jordanian screenwriter and producer based in the UAE. She is passionate about finding new stories to tell and discovering new voices through education. Through her Jordan based production company Screen Project, she produces films in the MENA region for theatrical release. In 2012 Nadia Produced the award winning Jordanian feature film When Monaliza Smiled for Fadi G. Haddad, the film had its international premiere at Dubai International Film Festival in 2012 and was theatrically released in Jordan and Morocco. Nadia co-wrote and produced the award winning Lebanese box office hit MAHBAS (Solitaire) with co-writer/director Sophie Boutros. Following the film Gala World Premiere at Dubai International Film Festival in 2016, Mahbas had a very successful wide theatrical release in 7 countries in the MENA region with over 110,000 admissions in addition to a successful theatrical release in Sweden. Nadia is currently developing a fiction film from Yemen titled The Station with Oscar nominated Yemeni/Scottish director Sara Ishaq. In 2017, Nadia produced the 14th edition of the Dubai Film Market; the business and trade hub of the Dubai International Film Festival. She holds the academic rank of Associate Professor after teaching Screenwriting and Production at the American University in Dubai from 2010 to 2017.
