Biography

Raf Reyntjens is a Belgian writer-director of fiction films, commercials and music videos. A graduate from the Brussels Film Academy RITS, he wrote and directed two awarded short films that where shown at filmfestivals worldwide. The sci-fi fantasy A Message from Outer Space got a US remake. The epic war short Tunnelrat explores the world of underground warfare during World War I. It was part of MoMA’s The Great War: A Cinematic Legacy. Both films starred a young Matthias Schoenaerts. In the summer of 2015 Raf Reyntjens shot his first feature film Paradise Trips, a Belgian-Dutch co-production of a script he developed at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam. In 2015 Cinéart released the film in Belgium and the Netherlands and it received 3 Ensors at the Flemish Film Awards, including Best Actor and the Industry Award. His second feature script Life After Zoro, developed at Torino Filmlab Script & Pitch, received the support from the Flemish Filmfund and is currently in development. Apart from his film work Raf Reyntjens is also an acclaimed director of commercials and music videos. He’s known for his work for Belgian artist Stromae. His awarded music video for Papaoutai became an instant classice reaching over 400 million youtube views.
