Marko is a member of Slovene Society of Cinematographers (ZFS) since 2011 and a member of European Film Academy. The films he lensed have been shown in numerous film festivals around the world and have won several awards and recognitions. Among them are the Jury Prize in Cannes IFF 2015 - Un Certain Regard, a European Parliament LUX Prize 2015 Selection and competition programmes in Venice IFF, Rotterdam IFF, Cottbus IFF, Tribeca IFF and others. Marko is a recipient of four national awards VESNA for Best Cinematography at the Slovene FF for the feature films DAD (2010) by Vlado Škafar and THE HIGH SUN (2015) by Dalibor Matanić and a recipient of Yury Makurkin memorial award for Best Cinematography (Listapad IFF 2015). For his work on the film THE HIGH SUN Marko was also awarded by Slovene Society of Cinematographers (ZFS) a 2015 IRIS Award for Best Cinematography in the category of feature films.
