Following art and philosophy studies, and years of extensive work in film development, Magali Magistry directed her first short films, selected and rewarded in numerous festivals.
In 2011, CINDERELA, a twisted love story shot in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, premieres in Sundance Film Festival.
In 2013, VIKINGAR, selected at La Semaine de la Critique, César and Edda nominee, tells a story of rivalry between intrepid Viking warriors.
Most recently, EXPIRE, Méliès d'Or for Best European Fantastic Film, depicts the journey of a young girl in a world blanketed by the smog.
Magali is currently developping her first feature film, SHE WOLF, a grounded Sci-Fi adapted from Marie Darrieussecq’s latest novel "Our life in the forests". Her project is supported by Critics'Week "Next Step" and the Torino Film Lab.
